Thanks for the qusetion, Patrick.The RATING_CHOICES tuple needs to be defined somewhere before it’s called by the form code. I’ve updated the example code in the post to include a sample tuple definition. Hope that helps!

Hi dmitko, I realize of what I was doing wrong, my foreignkey field was related to ‘self’ model, instead Comment… everything works ok now, but still I just need to figure out how to render the templates comments as a tree-like structure

Sure, I want to customize django.contrib.comments in order to make a threaded comment app, where users can reply other users comments. I think that adding a foreignkey field is enough, like the field «parent» in your example, now the problem is that I don’t know how to display it in the form as a hidden input and what should I do in the view to save it… and the other problem is how to render the template, but I’m leaving that for later.
